Obituary
Jerry Kayseas passed peacefully with his family by his side at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. His is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Florence, his children, Gwen (Mike), Brenda (Bob), Barry, Sharon, Harvey (Kelly), Bob, (Marlene), Don, (Verna), and Rhonda (Dennis), adopted son Ross Cadotte (Sharon) and 43 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Jerry is pre-deceased by his parents Henry and Marjorie Kayseas and a baby sister, Rosemary. Jerry, kichi-Anishnabae, was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He strongly believed in higher education. And, he was very proud of his children's accomplishments and the levels of education they attained. He believed and lived the Anishnabae way of life, the philosophy of "pimātiziwān" to live in a good way. Jerry was devoted to his community and had an abundant of love to share with everyone he encountered. Jerry will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The wake will be held at the Percy Severight Memorial Hall in Kylemore, Saskatchewan on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 4:00 pm and a service will follow on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00 am. The family invites you join them for a traditional feast at Percy Severight Memorial Hall to follow the interment. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be in Jerry's name to the Native Grad Recognition Night at the Saskatoon Indian & Metis Friendship Centre, 168 Wall Street, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
