This note is to express my heartfelt sympathy for all Nettie's family, and share a little of how she touched my life. My recollection of first meeting Nettie was in 1967 when Margo High School discontinued classes for those of us in grade 12. My family arranged me to live with Mrs. Guloien who lived just down the street from Nettie. Blandina and I got rides to school with Dr. Baird's son. When Nettie would be outside she always had a lovely smile and friendly greeting. Then some years later, my sister married Nettie and Lawrence's son George and we enjoyed many wonderful visits with them. Nettie loved to visit and was interested in what each person had to say. Her love for family and delight in her grandchildren and great grandchildren was a pleasure to see. And on another note, she made the most amazing condiment which she called 'lazy cucumber' which every one of us enjoys and it carries on as one of many treasured legacies we have from being blessed with dear Nettie.
