Obituary
Mr. Bill Hawreluik passed away on January 29, 2013 in Yorkton, SK. Funeral Prayers for Mr. Hawreluik was held on Sunday, February 3rd, 7:00 p.m. in the Sheho Ukranian Orthodox Church, Sheho, SK. Divine Liturgy for Mr. Hawreluik was held on Monday, February 4th at 10:00 a.m. also in the Sheho Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Sheho, SK. Internment to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, you can make donations in Bill's name to the Sheho Ukrainian Orthodox Church Fund (on the hill) Online condolences may be left for the family via this website. William (Bill) Hawreluik, beloved husband of Elsie, passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2013, at the Yorkton Regional Health Center. Bill was born on January 10th, 1920, on the family farm to Alex and Polly (Slowski) Hawreluik. He recieved his education in Sheho, Saskatchewan. As a young man, he started his career working on a freighter on the Great Lakes. Needless to say, that was not his calling and after getting sea sick, he said he would never set foot on a boat again. When he came back west he found empoyment in Alberta, then working his way back home to Sheho, where he began farming. Bill was united in marriage to Elsie (Rudey) on January 27th, 1945, therefore just recently celbrating their 68th Wedding Anniversary. This union was blessed with three children: Eugene, Marlene, and Shirley. He was an avid gardener and always enjoyed the outdoors and loved to play a game of three spot now and then. In his early years, Bill used to supplement his income by cutting wood with his PRIDE AND JOY COCKSHUTT 30 TRACTOR, which he purchased brand new in 1951. His greatest love came from watching his granchildren's activities whether it be hockey, dancing or horse racing. Predeceased by his father Alex, mother Polly, brother Nick, sister Katie, Mary, Olga, and Annie. Son Eugene, daughter in law Joyce and great grand son William Cole. Bill leave to cherish his memories his loving wife of 68 years, Elsie. Daughetrs Marlene (Doug) & Shirley (Dennis). Grandchildren: Kelvin (Shauna), Clayton, Kelly, Kirk (Marcie), Karla (Keith), Kristie, Kurt, Tara (Derek), Shawn (Nicole). Great-grandchildren: Kierra, Tatum, Tanner, Drayden, Kalen, Hannah, Kaynan, Kyson, Ethan, Taylor, Hollin, and Ried. Sister Elsie and numerous other family members and friends.
