Obituary
Beulah was born on December 24, 1919, to Karen and Ole Egge. She was born at the family homestead 4 miles northeast of Kuroki. Beuah was the 4th of 8 children. The family moved to Nut Mountain to be closer to Glengariff school where She attended the one room schoolhouse for grades 1-9. Beulah was an exceptional student having skipped 2 grades because of high academic achievement. She was taught at an early age the value of hard work on their family farm which was something that she emulated for the rest of her life. Her kindness and caring spirit never went unnoticed. Beulah Johnson (nee Egge), 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 9, 2018 at the Pleasantview Care Home in Wadena. She was predeceased by her husband Oscar Sr., her son Oscar Jr., her brothers Alvin, Harold, Joe, Torsten, and her sisters Mabel and Helen. She is survived by her children Douglas, Howard (Sharon), Elaine (Joe) Dosenberger, Ardyce (Tracy) Glessing, daughter-in-law Barb Johnson, brother Olaf (Eva) Egge, 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Beulah moved to Wadena in 2000, after spending 10 years in Yorkton and generations in Margo. Beulah married Oscar Johnson on January 27, 1942. They lived on the family homestead until moving to the village of Margo in 1946 so, that the kids may attend school. Beulah worked along side Oscar at the farm while balancing her family, community activism being a leader in the local 4-H club teaching sewing, and was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church and ELW. She loved curling. She was an avid fan and participant in numerous local bonspiels. As Skip, she lead her teammates to many victories. Beulah was very talented seamstress. She created many bridesmaid dresses, outfits for her children and grandchildren, and patching for whomever needed it. She loved painting ceramics and later on, canvas at Weneeda Park Lodge. Beulah took pride in her yard filling it with beautiful flowers and an amazing garden. Drop-in visitors were always welcome the Johnson’s- likely inspired by Beulah’s pies and fact that the coffee pot was always brewing. Beulah and Oscar had time for everyone. Beulah had a smile for everyone she met. She gave strength to those who needed it most. Her generosity and compassion for others was unsurpassed. Beulah is best described by her grandsnon Lee-as a cross between the Queen of England,- for being our family matriarch and Rocky Balboa, tough as nails. She had strength in spades and a great capacity for love. You are our Angel and we will miss you dearly. Rest peacefully knowing you are secure in the arms of Divine Love.
