Janet was born to Michael and Emily Koble on August 7, 1952. She attended school in Colonsey, was active in ball and volleyball. She had no time for the popular girl cliques so played on boys teams. In 1967, Janet was the Colonsey Centennial Queen. As a young girl one day, Janet sat on a tire in the sun learning her prayers as a good Catholic girl should and she was suddenly overwhelmed by a feeling of love, joy and warmth. In later years she understood a gift had been passed to her. Janet’s goal for the rest of her life, whether intentional or not, was to spread healing and love to all the lives she touched. In 1984 Janet took her CNA at Kelsey and found work in Melville Pediatrics. She struggled with CNA’s limited duties and in 1975 became the school nurse at the Qu’Appelle Indian Residential School in Lebret. The kids called her ‘Miss’, the management ‘Apisimôsis Misktsika’ or ‘Deer Eyes’. A short marriage placed her back into Melville, working a nursing home and back into the hospital. A beautiful kind person, Linda Cottam became a lifelong friend at this time. In 1984, Janet took training at Rutgers University in New Jersey for addiction counselling and spent the next 9 years in this profession in Indian Head. During this time, Janet received the gift of her son Michael Gordon Kirk, March 16, 1989. In 1994, serious pneumonia and recovery forced a job change and led Janet to Wynyard where her good friend Linda lived. Shortly thereafter, it lead to a new life with soulmate Erni Hall. Janet abandoned her part-time nursing in Wadena and Wynyard to homeschool Mitch after a severe bullying issue at school. Through this, she lost her nursing certification and was forced to redo her nursing certification in 2006. As a new LPN, she worked for 9 years as a homecare nurse for Touchwood Agency Tribal Council. Changes there forced her to again find new employment. These nine years gained Janet many lifelong friends with co-workers and patients. Not ready to retire, Janet began working at the Wynyard Hospital and Nursing Home. This would place us in 2016. Janet began to feel tired more and not as energetic as normal, thinking ‘I’m just getting older’. She ignored it until April 2017, and here we are. During her life in Wynyard, she practiced and gained high level recognition in Reflexology, Reiki and Yoga. She taught many yoga classes in the community. She understood and practiced healthy living, healthy foods, and natural medicine. Janet leaves to mourn her son Michael Kirk, husband Erni Hall, stepdaughter Sharon (Acey) Hall Lonsberry, stepson Neale Hall, grandchildren Drayton, Ryder, Weston and Aria Hall Lonsberry, brother Wayne (June) Koble, sister Cherry (Rick) Kowalski, nieces Tricia (Enzo) Pelletier, Jamie (Dexter) Kowalski, Jodi (Marylynn) Kowalski, Jeff Kowalski, Natashja Fischer, great nephews Nathan Heidi, Dyllan and Christian Kowalski, and great nieces Emily, Autumn, and Beth Kowalski.
