Obituary
It is with great sorrow that the family of Cynthia Lee Haugan (nee Johannesson) announce her sudden and untimely passing. Cynthia is survived by her husband Mark Haugan of Wynyard, Saskatchewan. Memorial service for Cynthia was held on Wednesday, January.23rd at 2:00 P.M at the Wynyard Civic Center. Online condolences will be forwarded to the family. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cynthia's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Cynthia (Cindy) Lee Johannesson-Haugan, 39, passed away suddenly on January 18, 2013 at Regina Pasqua Hospital. Cindy was born on January 9, 1974 in Saskatoon, SK to Rodney and Marilee (Goodman) Johannesson. Cindy grew up in Wynyard, SK on four acres of land. With three older brothers, and numerous cousins. Cindy enjoyed a childhood filled with adventure and fun. She had many friends throughout her school years, and worked very hard to keep the relationships alive and vibrant. She rarely had a weekend off from being with her friends. People loved to be with Cindy. They appreciated her positive attitude and her loving nature towards them and their lives. She graduated from Wynyard High School in 1992. After high school, she moved to Saskatoon for a few years before deciding to move to California where she worked as a nanny. Cindy often shared fond memories of this time with her family and friends. She met her husband Mark in 1997 at the Wynyard Indoor Rodeo. Cindy had a terrific sense of humour and loved practical jokes. Her sense of humour was displayed to Mark when she introduced herself as Yolanda from Fresno. Mark knew it was love at first sight. He remembers thinking that she had the most beautiful eyes. Cindy and Mark married in 2008 at a beautiful, outdoor wedding at the picturesque Norquay Meadows in Banff, AB. Cindy spent a majority of her working life at Carlton Trail Regional College as a Career Counsellor " a career that she loved. This job allowed her to help and encourage people to aspire to their potential. She decided that a career as a Massage Therapist would be the next step in her life. Once engaged in learning she didnt stop at just Massage Therapy. She was taking extra courses in the Physio-Therapy aspect of the course and in December she received her mid-wifery diploma. Cindy was incredibly passionate about her family and friends. Her dogs (Dublin, Vegas and Maggie) were very important to her. She loved flowers and gardening, crafts, scrapbooking, gourmet cooking and was very interested in researching her family history and heritage. She will always be remembered for her generosity, quick wit, intelligence and beauty. Cindy will be deeply missed by her husband Mark Haugan; her siblings Randy (Karen), their children April (Brandon Hubbell and their son Kobe), Elesha (Chance) Kaczmar, and Darren (Renae); Rick (Darlene) and their children Jacqueline and Jason; Ron (Julie) and their children Sofia and Signe; her Grandmothers, Helen Goodman and Johanna Johannesson and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
