Marie-Jeanne was in the same class of 1994 that completed the Regina Archdiocese's Lay Ministry Formation Program. Although it has been many years since I last saw and talked with her, the memory of her is still fresh in my mind. The rest of us referred to her as "grandma" and that she was, as she often told us stories from her life experience, living in Coderre, about Lionel, about rearing a family of 10 children. She was a wise, kind and congenial person, a real lady. Often I would provide a ride home for her when the weekends concluded on Sunday afternoon. This was when she and Ivon lived on Blackwood St. We always had interesting chats about life, our parish, the priests and the featured speaker for the weekend. As always happens the best of intentions of classes promising to get together fade away and we soon fall out of touch with one another. Today a woman who had lived in Coderre and knew your mom and dad, Marjorie (Marmy) Wagner passed away. Her and her husband George had the hotel in Coderre at one time.
My sincere condolences to you, the surviving children, on the death of mother, Marie-Jeanne and brother, David just shortly before Marie-Jeanne's death.
Going forward, hopefully all with remain hidden from the coronavirus and remain well.
Blessings to all!
Sincerely,
Richard Mantyak
