Please click here for live stream It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Essar on February 9, 2021. Jean Essar was born on August 1, 1941 on the farm to John and Lena Essar. Jean married Peter Halko in 1959 and they were blessed with three children, Sharon, William and Wayne. Jean was constantly giving of herself. She worked at the Foam Lake Jubilee Home for many years until her retirement. She was never too busy for company, and always ready with a pot of coffee and a plate of homemade goodies when you arrived. She spent her days baking, making beautiful quilts and afghans, and tending to her beautiful garden. Jean is predeceased by her grandparents Anastasia and Vasyl Essar, and Gafice and George Melnychuk, her mother Lena and her father John, sisters Kay, Elizabeth, and Mary, brothers Willy, Walter and Lawrence, daughter Sharon, and sons William and Wayne. She will be forever loved and missed by brothers Paul and Morris, sisters-in-law Shirley, Marianne, and Marilyn, daughter-in-law Kathy, grandsons Sheldon, Terrance, and Christopher (Jamie), granddaughters Nicole (Scott) and Ashley, great-grandchildren Alera, Layne, Jaxton, Huxley, Rhett, and Jessica, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Family was most important to Jean. Jean was a Mother, a Baba, a Sister, and an Auntie, all of these roles she treasured dearly. She would have given the shirt off her own back to help anyone in need. We were truly blessed to have such a loving Mother, Baba, Aunt, Sister, Friend and we are all thankful to have our own special memories. “ Do not watch the petals fall from the rose with sadness, know that, like life, things sometimes must fade, before they can bloom again” ~ Anonymous Private Family Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2021 Funeral Service will be live streamed on Narfason’s Funeral Chapel & Crematorium’s Facebook Page.
