Obituary
Joyce Tait was born on January 9, 1920, in Smith Falls, Ontario. After finishing high school, she attended nurse's training at Kingston General Hospital, graduating in 1942. In 1943, she came to Saskatchewan where her brother Ernest Johnson was a doctor and subsequently began nursing at Wadena Union Hospital. Joyce met her future husband, James Tait, upon his discharge from service following World War II. They were married in November 1946. Together, they farmed in the Wimmer area and Joyce worked in Wadena, Quill Lake, and Watson. They raised four children, Malcolm, Marcia, Donald, and David. Joyce and James retired from farming in 1988 and moved into Quill Lake. Joyce's wide range of interests included gardening, travel, and the Arts. She was an active volunteer with the Order of the Eastern Star, Pastoral Care, Anglican Church, Quill Plains Regional Arts Council, and Meals on Wheels. She will be remembered for her giving nature caring for others. Joyce is survived by her four children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
