Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2016 The Chapel of Narfason's Narfason's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium Wadena, Saskatchewan Gilbert Charles Larson was born on January 8, 1929 to Floyd & Jean Larson in the Foston District. He was raised on the family farm near Fosston. Gilbert learnt how to work hard from a very young age. He was a full time farmer by the time he was a young teen, when his own father died in a hunting accident. Once Gilbert turned 18 he was off to Alberta to find work in the construction industry and in later years worked in the cement finishing business. Gilberts life motto was work, and he taught others that working hard was important. Gilbert loved a good debate and often was on a mission to ensure people saw things his way. Gilbert moved back to Foston in 1993 as a single parent to his 13 year old son. Gilbert enjoyed fishing, farming, horses and his “77 blue GMC truck. Gilbert moved to the Rose Valley Manor in 2013. After spending a short stint in Kelvington hospital, he moved to Tisdale hospital. On February 15, 2016 Gilbert Charles Larson passed away after a short battle with cancer. Gilbert leaves to mourn his passing and remember his life, his children: Harvey, Vivian, Donna, Dennis, Gary, Dora, Sheri, Terry and Ian; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their families. Gilbert will continue to fish in heaven, his work on earth is done.
