He grew up and took his schooling in Eatonia and Saskatoon. While growing up Ron helped on the farm and worked at service stations. He enjoyed playing hockey and spending time with his grandparents. His grandparents were very important to him and he took advantage of every opportunity he had to spend time with them. Ron loved farming, vehicles, and Harley Davidson motor bikes. His passion for anything with a motor was his work throughout his life. Ron spent many hours driving Harley Davidson motor bikes. He moved to the Rose Valley and Fosston area to farm. Ron married Yvonne Holowaty in 1978. Ron & Yvonne farmed just outside of Fosston for many years. Ron and Yvonne had two children Gerry and Dale. In later years they moved from the farm in Kelvington. Before moving from the farm and after moving to Kelvington, Ron worked driving gravel truck for Warner Construction. He continued to work for Warner Construction, a job he enjoyed, until his health failed him and he was no longer able to work. While his health was declining, he was still able to work in the yard in Kelvington, fixing small motors. Ron loved dogs, they were like family to him. Ron's illness forced him to take treatment for kidney disease and June of 2014 he moved to Saskatoon, where he could have the medical attention he needed. Ron & Yvonne rented an apartment in Saskatoon so that he could take his treatments. Ron passed away peacefully in his sleep, with his wife by his side, on December 20, 2014. He leaves to morn his passing, his loving wife, Yvonne; sons, Gerry (Janelle Daku) Peters and Dale Peters; one brother, Bob (Carol) Peters; nieces and nephews, Garrett Peters, Julie (Scott) Douthwright, Chris (Brittney) Peters. He also leaves his in-law family of the Holowaty's and the Melnechenkos, many friends and co-workers. Ron will be sadly missed by so many that knew and loved him.
