Obituary
Kay (Kathleen) Alice Kapustiak was born Kathleen Alice Naylor on Sept 20, 1930 to Ernie and Catherine Naylor in Crane Valley, Sask. They then moved to the Greenwater Lake area in 1938. On July 1, 1956 Kay married John Kapustiak and they moved to the farm north of Wadena where the two girls, Diane and Joan were raised. Kay resided on the farm until John’s passing in 1979 when she then moved into Wadena. Kay enjoyed camping with John and the girls for years, especially time spent at Buckhorn Bay and Saskin Beach. They also spent many years camping and fishing with her sister, Shirley and her husband Mervin and her brother, Don and his wife Evelyn. Along the way good times were also enjoyed with friends, Ted and Marion Kerluke, Ed and Helga Helberg and Paul and Agnes Polowich only to name a few. Even after John’s passing in the years that followed she still managed to take her grandchildren camping to Buckhorn. These are memories the grandchildren will always treasure with Grandma. Kay and John went to Las Vegas in 1979 with Ted and Marion and Grant and Holly. Well for those of you who knew Kay, you knew she loved her Bingo so you can imagine the excitement when she seen the lights of Vegas from the plane!! She loved Vegas and we all had a great time together. Kay also loved to garden and she passed this trait on to her daughter Joan. Kay was always there to help with the grandchildren when needed and she loved it, watching them grow into fine young adults, having children of their own, her great grandchildren. She also helped Diane when she ran the day care and then moved to the B and D to help them with cooking donuts and anything else they needed help with. She loved every minute of it there and looked so forward to going and talking to friends and strangers that came in. Kay was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2014 Kay moved into Pleasantview Care Home where she resided until her passing. She really felt like that was home to her and she appreciated the staff and all they did for her the last few years to make her feel comfortable there.
