Obituary
David passed away on December 15, 2020 at Melfort Hospital after a long battle with cancer. David was born March 30, 1936. He was the youngest and only son of Chester and Aagot(Hagen) Carson. He had three older sisters, Dorothy, Fern and Jean. They all grew up on the farm which their father homesteaded east of Naicam and attended Violetdale School. David was an outdoors person who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed rodeos and even participated in his younger days (Knute’s Stampede) As kids we remember having to go to every rodeo and chuckwagon race within a 100 mile radius! He also loved music and played the guitar and violin. There used to be quite the parties at the farm back in the day with everyone playing and singing which David totally enjoyed. He also liked tinkering and fixing things, it was like a hobby to him. David worked various jobs throughout his life from Hetland Seeds to Driving Cat for Bill James as well as logging up north. But he spent the major part of his life farming as he took over the family farm. He also ran the snow plow for many years in the Violetdale District. David met Eunice Vipond at a dance at Kew Garden School in 1957 and they were married in December of 1959. With this union came three children, Sally, Frank and Arnie. When they first got married they lived in Lac Vert, Sask. until moving to the farm in the early 60’s where they resided until 1984 then they moved into Naicam. After David’s health started deteriorating he moved into Nirvana Care Home in Melfort where he lived for the last year. David is predeceased by his wife Eunice; his parents Chester and Aagot Carson; his parent-in- laws John and Annie Vipond; sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Ken Krantz; sister Fern and broth-in-law John Fitzpatric; brother-in-laws Leslie and Elmer Vipond. Left to cherish his memory are his children Sally, Frank (Debbie), Arnie (Kayla), 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Jean Wood, brother-in-laws Harold (Irene) Vipond and Phyllip (Darlene) Vipond as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
