Obituary
Pete (Peter) Timoshuk January 12, 1928 - May 16, 2021 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pete (Peter) Timoshuk who was born on January 12, 1928 on their farm in the RM of Foam Lake. Pete passed away in the Wadena hospital at the wonderful age of 93, he was pleasantly funny and always had a little story, he enjoyed drinking Coke and Budweiser beer and ate large flake oatmeal, he said he “could eat that every day”. Pete began having some health issues last year, when it was discovered that he had cancer, but he never complained, and always just went with the flow of life. He enjoyed his weekly trips to Foam Lake to get his own mail and a few grocery items, with his fur-buddy “Dusty” dog in the passenger seat. Pete was the second of five children born to Tom and Mary (Kril) Timoshuk, he lived on a farm in the RM of Foam Lake in the Fishing Lake area. He attended the Oslan school south of the farm and later attended Fishing Lake school when it first opened. At the age of 16, Pete decided that it was time to enter the workforce, as learning French in school was not on his list of things to do. Pete worked for CP rail and also cut pulpwood near Prairie River in the off season of farming, later he returned to the farm full time to continue his lifelong dream of raising cattle and growing grain. He farmed until 2013, but at heart he farmed until the day he left us. Pete married his life partner Effie (Anaka) on June 24, 1956 in Wadena, SK. Pete and Effie did not have any children but their abundance of love kept their life full of furry friends. Pete enjoyed curling as a youngster, ice fishing, hunting and later the sport of watching the Blue Jay’s play ball on TV. He also enjoyed daily trips around the farm on his ranger with Dusty riding shotgun. Pete was predeceased by his loving wife Effie in Oct 2012, who was always full of energy and enthusiasm, father Tom and mother Mary, brother Tom (Eileen) and sisters Vera (Glen) Flanders & Nadga West. Pete is survived by his youngest sister Luba (William) Bindig of Kuroki and brother in-law Bob West of Foam Lake, and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Cards of sympathy and caring may be sent to: The Family of Peter Timoshuk PO Box 926 Foam Lake, SK S0A 1A0 Donations in memory of Peter may be made to the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital 103 Hospital Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0W8. Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear.
