Obituary
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Mary Turner Patterson of Leross, Sask. was born on July 9, 1921 at Winnipeg, Manitoba and passed away peacefully at the Raymore Silver Heights Care Home on February 6, 2017, at the age of 95. She was the eldest of ten children born to Robert and Agnes Murray. The family moved to a farm south of Leross when Mary was five. She attended the Georges and Doverley schools after which she worked at Rosetown as a house keeper. Mary returned to the Leross farm to help her parents look after the children. On September 14, 1942, Mary married Clyde Patterson before he went to Europe as a soldier in the Canadian Army. Upon his return, he purchased land and began their family farm south of Leross. They raised six children; worked many long and hard hours enjoying the good life. After Clyde passed away in 1979, she stayed on the farm until 2014, before moving to the nursing home at Raymore. She was predeceased by: her parents Robert and Agnes; her husband Clyde; son Robert; brothers Robert, John and Bill; sister Dorothy Eby and an infant great grandson, Brett Seminuk. Mary is survived by: her children, Bill(Aletha), Lorraine (Maurice) Landry, Marjorie (Ken) Janes, Janie (Morris) Karakochuk, Donald and daughter-in-law, Darcy (Bob Patterson) Morgan. Mourning her passing are sisters Elizabeth Walker, Agnes Snider and Phyllis (Dan) Lawrence, along with two brothers, Gordon (Elsie) Murray and Douglas (Janet) Murray besides sixteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren In respecting Mary’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held. Interment is pending at the Kelliher Cemetery later this summer. In lieu of flower, donations to the Arthritis Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
