Obituary
Matthew William Barteski was born on December 3, 1985 in Canora, Sk, to Cathy and Curtis Barteski. He had 2 sisters Nicole and Courtney. Matthew was a happy kid growing up. He loved fishing with his dad and grandpa Birrell. He also loved hunting, harassing his sisters, telling jokes, and playing video games. He was always interested in electronics and the latest technology. He took all of his schooling in Invermay and studied web design in Saskatoon. He worked at a few different jobs before he joined G.W. Constructionwhere he found his best friend, Sean Wilson, and a career he loved. It was while living in Saskatoon that he met the love of his life, his fiance, Crystal Olson. Crystal just fit right into the Barteski family. Mathew couldn't have picked a better partner. They were engaged last December and were going to be married on September 19, 2015. Matthew was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and put up a hard and brave fight. He passed away on December 1, 2014 surrounded by Crystal and his loving family. Matthew is lovingly remembered by his parents, Curtis and Cathy; sisters, Nicole and Courtney; fiance Crystal Olson; grandmothers, Martha Birrell (John Stacheruk) and Jean Barteski;great grandmother Katherine Varga; aunts and uncles: Shelia Bear, Cheryl (Lorne) Sliva, Kevin (Sylvia) Barteski, Kathy Cherneski, Darren (Maureen Hall) Barteski; Stewart (Andrea) Barteski; cousins: Shani, Ryan, Denise, Kyla, Kenneth, Brooks, Ian, Bryce, Erin, Evan, Ryan, Lindsay, Elias, Derek, Carson, and Megan; and many other family and friends who were a very important part of his life. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, William Birrell and Peter Barteski; cousin Joseph Sliva; and aunt Joyce and uncle Eugene Hawreluik.
