Obituary
Violet Faith Oschuk began her life on August 11, 1924 when she was born the youngest of six children to parents George and Margaret Holmes. Violet took all of her schooling at the Briar Mount Country School. Violet married Mike Osachuk on April 29, 1961 at the United Church in Watrous, Saskatchewan. They began their married life in Okla, Saskatchewan where Mike worked for the Federal Grain Company. Violet and Mike would move to Wynyard, Foam Lake and Yorkton, where Violet resided until her passing. Violet was a wonderful cook and an immaculate housekeeper. She was a collector of many trinkets including porcelain and ceramic birds and animals. Among her favorite collectables were the ceramic cats. Growing up she enjoyed the farm life and especially the cats on the farm. Violet worked in the housekeeping and kitchen departments of the Wynyard and Foam Lake hospitals. While living in Foam Lake, Violet and Mike were instrumental in getting the Housing Authority established. After it was functioning with residents placed, Violet continued to work with the Housing Authority collecting rent. In 1976, Violet and Mike moved to Yorkton where Violet worked at the Imperial 400 in the housekeeping department, where she worked until her retirement at the age of 69. Violet passed away on January 8, 2020 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home at the age of 95. Violet was predeceased by her parents, George and Margaret Holmes, her siblings; Brother, Gordon, Sisters, Ethel, Zeta, Edna, Margaret, and many in-laws. Violet is forever remembered and missed by her loving husband, Mike and her many nieces and nephews, whom Violet thought a lot of each of them. A special thank you to the staff at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home for all their care for Violet. Memorial donations in memory of Violet may be made to Foam Lake Community Hall or to the Yorkton & District Nursing Home
