Obituary
A come & go celebration of life for Milton will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 2:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Milton's farm. One mile north of the east gate entrance into Margo. Donation's in memory of Milton may be made to the Saskatchewan Kidney Foundation. Milton Howard Johnson was born October 23, 1921, middle son to Charles and Inga Johnson, of Margo Sask. The family lived east of Margo. Milton attended Olivet and Margo schools and farmed with his dad and brothers, Stanley and Kenneth. . Some fond early memories of Milton's were; of his dad taking him to the cafe in town and being asked "Who are you"? he would reply "I am Milton Howard Johnson, papa's big boy"; Milton, at 10years old (skipping school), driving the horses, the long trip up north to their newly built elevator. Milton often talked of how loving his parents were. His favourite memories of them were; His papa often whistling a tune and his mama cooking lefse. . Milton left to join the armed forces at the beginning of WW2. He boarded a ship in Nova Scotia, and after a seven day journey crossing the ocean, landed in England. Milton was trained as a gunner. Milton happily returned home in 1945, where his brother Kenneth met him at the train. They went to a dance that night at the Czech hall to celebrate. Two happy brothers, happy to be back together. Milton enjoyed being part of the Czech Gymnastics Club, where he often said he was in the best shape of his life. . Milton's greatest desire was to be a farmer....and maybe a cowboy (with his horse named Rat). . In 1949 Milton met Jean Murray, of Nut Mountain. Milton and Jean were married on October 25,1950. Together they farmed and raised 8 children. . Milton's passion was music. To his children's delight, he played the accordion and piano. He was part of a local band for many years. With music comes dancing and there was a lot of dancing at the Johnson farm, so much that a new beam had to be installed in their home. This new beam was to keep the kitchen floor from falling into the basement. . Milton loved working the land, his family and the simple life. He was an easy man to please, always a pleasure to be around, the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and the next one to your friend, before considering putting one on himself. . He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Milton is predeceased by his wife Jean(1997) and daughter Betty (1976). Milton will be lovingly remembered and is survived by, children; Lynn (Ron Mittleholtz), Julie (Ted Hilbig), Rena (Jerry Johnson), Cheryl (Ed Lea), Tim (Marlyn Haskey), Janet (Marc Sirois), Rhonda (Curtis Fuluche), and adored by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
