Obituary
Alfred grew up in Fishing Lake First Nations he was the seventh child to Mark and Violet Therese Chamkun. Alfred passed away peacefully at the Wadena Union Hospital on April 4, 2019 with his family by his side. Alfred is predeceased by his parents; Mark and Violet, siblings: Donald, Francis, Rose, Margaret, Mary, Stanley, Vivien, and Leonard. Daughter: Eileen Siemens, grandchildren: Bradley, Wilson, and Amaya. Alfred leaves to mourn, his sister Florence Kayseas, his brother Bernard Desjarlais. His Children: Rodney (Charlotte), Wesley (Connie) Leon (Sharon), Myrna, Alfred, Keith, Glen, Jason (Danita), Paige Sunshine, Alicia, Kathleen (Bobby), Denzel, and Vera. Alfred also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who have not been born yet. His numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends who will miss him dearly. Alfred helped his father with the family farm. When Alfred left home he went to work in the hotel/restaurant industry as a server for 25 years in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and parts of British Columbia. Alfred enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had an impeccable sense of humour with who he shared with anyone who he interacted with. His family will remember him fondly for his humorous nature. Family meant everything to Alfred, not only his own but all the children he helped raise as well. Alfred had special friendships with his numerous nieces and nephews. There was always a lot of laughter when he was around. He would tease them and gave many of them nicknames. He was fondly nicknamed "goat" and he was called Uncle Goat or Grandpa Goat.
