Obituary
Memorial Service 2:00 Saturday, March 19, 2016 Elfros Community Hall Elfros, Saskatchewan Donations in memory of Glen may be made to Wynyard Hospital Palliative Care Auxiliary Box 1873, Wynard, Saskatchewan S0A 4T0 Glenn was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan, the eldest of 5 children; he was raised on a farm in the Elfros area. He attended school at Prairie Grove in the R.M. of Elfros. At the age of 14, he and his brother Rae stayed at the farm while the rest of the family moved to Nobel, Ontario for his dad to work at an ammunition plant and a nickel plant during the war. In 1945, when his family returned home, Glenn, then 19 years of age, continued to farm with his dad and grandpa. Glenn then moved to B.C. and he worked at Threthewey Lumber Mill in Port Moody, B.C., until such time he returned to Elfros, Saskatchewan, where he continued to farm with his dad. Sept 1, 1956 Glenn married Evangeline Baziuk, in Vancouver, B.C.; they had three children, Jerry, Linda and Wanda. Glenn was trained as an auto body mechanic and later moved back to Elfros, Saskatchewan, to open his own business, J & G Auto Metals Ltd., in 1976. When Glenn was approximately 65, he retired and closed J & G Auto Metals Ltd. Glenn was very passionate about the Blue Jays; if it wasn’t televised he listened to it on the radio. He enjoyed hunting, especially birds with his brothers and friends. Part of his social outings were taking his haram (as he called it) to bingo in the various towns, playing crib and matching for coffee. His daily routine was going to the Mozart Co-op for coffee and then visiting his daughter Linda at the farm. Glenn was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren, and all their accomplishments. He still took a keen interest in farming activities. He got his wish to remain living in his own home, until being hospitalized shortly before his passing. Glenn passed away peacefully on March 13, 2016 at the Wynyard Union Hospital at the age of 89. His parents, George and Elsie, brothers Rae and Stuart and brothers-in-law Bill and Ted, predeceased him. He is lovingly remembered by: Sisters: Shirley and Marlyn (Emer); Sisters-in-law: Sally, Grace and Charlotte; Children: Jerry (Terri), Linda (Mark), Wanda (Ed); Grandchildren: Michael, Stacey (Norm), Crystal (Glendon), Mandy (Corey), Kristin (Brayden), Kacey and Jacqueline.
