Obituary
Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. November 3, 2017 Elnora Community Hall Elnora, Alberta Marvin Dennis Bigelow May 10, 1941 – October 23, 2017 Marvin passed away on October 23, 2017 at Golden Acres Auxiliary in Wynyard, SK. Marvin was born to Owen & Vera Bigelow in Vegreville, Alberta, May 10, 1941. He was the youngest child having three older sisters; Cecilia, Phyllis & Myrtle. Marvin grew up on a farm near Plamondon, Alberta and later moved to the Huxley area where he went to school. He had some pretty funny stories of playing hockey when he was young, always reluctantly being nominated to play net! Marvin met Diana Nielsen on a Friday night cruise through the streets of Elnora, as the story goes! They were later married on June 26, 1965. Marvin & Diana bought a small farm in the Crossroads community where they mixed farmed. Many of his nephews enjoyed their summer vacations on their farm. Marvin enjoyed being busy, having a passion for animals. He especially loved dogs and donkeys! Marvin’s other passion was fishing; he could sit in a boat or on the ice for hours. The only reason we would come to shore is for more bait or because no one brought a flashlight to fish in the dark! Marvin simply adored his grandchildren, spending countless hours giving wagon rides with the donkeys. He loved to play cards but oddly enough wasn’t a fan of Pictionary! Marvin was predeceased by his Mother Vera (nee Bates) and Father Owen, his middle sister Phyllis (McKay), his youngest sister Myrtle (Werbicki) and a son Wade (passed away during birth). Marvin will be sadly missed by his oldest sister Cecilia (Myers), his wife Diana, his three sons; Tom, Dean & Kelly. His grandchildren; Allex and Tanner (Tom & Sandy of Three Hills, AB), Mitchell and Liam (Dean & Sarah of St. Brieux, SK), and Emily, Brandon and Gracelyn (Kelly & Danielle of Trochu, AB). As well as, numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to “Stars Air Ambulance - Saskatchewan” and / or “Wynyard Golden Acres Auxiliary” (Box 670, Wynyard, SK, S0A 4T0)
