Obituary
Marion Therese Balaski Titanich June 9, 1926 - April 28, 2017 Marion is survived by her children: Sandra (Erwin) Doerper, Montreal; Angela (Andrzej) Olkowski, Saskatoon; Carol (David) Liebel, Saint John, NB and Fred Titanich (Lorraine Hope), Regina; her grandchildren: Tim, Anthony, Max, Victor, Carly, Brandin, Bailey and great grandchildren. Also her siblings: Peter Balaski, Kamloops BC; Bill (Grace) Balaski, Oliver BC; Helen (Bruce) Crowder, Bend, Oregon; Donald (Rosa) Balaski, Brownsville, Texas She was predeceased by her husband Tony, her parents Peter & Dora Balaski, and her brothers Mike and infant Michael. Marion grew up on the family farm near Fosston, SK. She completed high school, went away to work and married Tony Titanich (from Roblin, Manitoba) in November 1947. They lived in Winnipeg where Sandra was born and later moved to Saskatchewan. They farmed in Wadena, where their other three children were born, and in Langenburg. They lived in Esterhazy, Saskatoon and then moved back to Wadena in 1998 to live in what had been Pete & Dora`s retirement home at 121 Jim Headington Way. After his aneurysm and stroke in 1979, Marion faithfully cared for Tony until his death in 2002. One of Jehovah`s Witnesses since 1944, Marion was certain of the fulfillment of the prayer for God`s Kingdom to come and for his will be done on earth. Her hope in the resurrection to life on a paradise earth was firm and her great concern was that her loved ones be there to welcome her back. She shared this hope of a beautiful future at every opportunity and thoroughly enjoyed doing so. During her last decades of life and in the company of her dear friends, Katie, Eva and Mary, she spent many hours in this witnessing work. In fact she was on her way out in this ministry when she fell ill on April 26, 2017, and was hospitalized the next morning. Tests revealed an intestinal obstruction. Treatment options offered little hope for a good quality of life or even survival. We, her children, are very grateful that Marion had clearly made known and authorized her wishes: her life was not to be prolonged under such circumstances. With the compassionate care of Dr. Robert Horan and the nursing staff of Wadena Hospital, Marion was made as comfortable as possible and on Friday, April 28th, just after 10 pm, she very peacefully stopped breathing and fell asleep in death. Outgoing, hard-working, generous and faithful were among Marion`s many admirable qualities. She was an avid gardener, an excellent cook and made the BEST perogies anywhere. So much could be written about her accomplishments during her 90+ years of life. There are many stories to share and we would appreciate reading any that you wish to add to her Life Story on www.narfasons.com along with photos and on line condolences Mail can be sent care of Carol Liebel, 2447 Candace St., Saint John, NB E2J 2Z8 As per Marion`s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Her cremated ashes will be buried in the family plot in Rose Valley Cemetery.
