Obituary
Mr. Metro (Matt) Nekorak, passed away on November 14, 2012. Funeral service for Mr. Nekorak was held Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Sheho Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Sheho Saskatchewan at 10:00 a.m. Burial took place at the Sheho Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery (on the hill). Online condolences will be recieved by the family. Metro(Matt) Nekorak was born September 6th, 1918 to John and Katie Nekorak on the family farm seven miles south of Sheho. He married Alice Sadler in November, 1973 and they celebrated twenty nine happy years. They enjoyed going on trips to Disneyland, the Alaska Highway and the East Coast, plus many camping trips with their trailer. Matt served in the Canadian Army from 1939 to 1946, mainly working as a cook's helper. He was very proud to have served his country and held many positions in the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a member of St.Elias Church and later the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Holy Trinity in Sheho. He was also a member of the Sheho Lions Club and volunteered whenever he was needed. Upon discharge from the Army, he purchased land and farmed from 1946 to 1985. Failing health caused him to rent his land and then sell it. He was predeceased by his parents John in 1978, Katie in 1993, sisters Flora in 1944, Mary in 1981, brothers Steve 1968, Morris 1986, and George 1995. Matt leaves to celebrate his memory, his caregivers Lorn and Shirley Korpatniski and their family and step children Ron, Helene, and Val and their families.
