Wynyard Ukrainian Catholic Church Wynyard, SK It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother and Grandmother, Sophie Fedirko. She passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Golden Acres. Sophie was predeceased by her husband Steve, mother and father Anne (Babey) and Harry Pawlowski, sister Margaret Dubiel and brothers John and Nick Pawlowski. Sophie was born in the Wynyard Hospital on November 25, 1922. She attended school in the Rushville District. In 1950, she met and married Steve Fedirko and together they were blessed with three children. Sophie and Steve left the family farm and moved into Wynyard in 1962, where Sophie was incredibly happy in her new home. Sophie was not afraid of hard work and was happy to do it for her family. Sophie was employed at Crawford's Food for many years. Raising her children was her greatest joy and she was very proud of all of their accomplishments. As the grandchildren grew up she was even prouder of them and their educational achievements. Sophie was an avid gardener and homemaker and she loved to cook and bake for her loving family. She will be deeply missed by her children: Dennis (Sandra), Wilmar, and Carol (Mark) and grandchildren: Matthew, Carmen, Brent, Travis, Lindsay (Kalvin), and Brittany (James) whom she adored. Interment to follow at the Wynyard Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Sophie to the Golden Acres Auxiliary Fund.
