Rose Polonich Rosalind (Rose) Polonich was born February 23, 1927 to Wasylena and Alex Mizinski and grew up in the Winthorpe and Sheho Districts. In 1946 Rose married Steve Polonich and moved to the Hazel District where they farmed, later settling on the Polonich Family Farm in the Kracney District. There she raised 5 children while contributing to the farm operations and tending to various household chores. Retiring from farm life in 1980, Rose moved to Foam Lake with her husband Steve. Rose also spent many enjoyable days at their Fishing Lake cabin, fishing and entertaining family and friends. After 52 years of marriage Rose lost her husband Steve. She then made Foam Lake her permanent residence. Rose was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Rose was actively involved with Royal Canadian Legion #16 for over 20 years. Rose was also a board member with the Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She enjoyed singing with the Veselka Choir and playing cards at the Senior’s Center. It was a daily occurrence to see Rose in her electric blue P.T. Cruiser as she cruised downtown for her daily coffee with friends. Rose’s last few years were spent in the Yorkton Regional Nursing Home. Rose passed away in the Yorkton Regional Hospital on June 20, 2021. Rest in eternal peace Rose.
