William “Bill” Basil Zack passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on August 25, 2016 at Golden Acres Lodge in Wynyard, SK. where he had resided for the last 2 years. Bill was born on his homestead farm located 5 miles west of Wishart, SK. to Nick and Mary (Wasylenko). Bill was the third child of 10: Mike (deceased 5 months); John (stillborn); Anne (deceased 7 months); foster sister Nellie (Geysler) Moroz (husband Mike); Jean Olson (Harold) - deceased; Peter (Maria) of Wynyard, SK.; Walter (Elizabeth) of Regina, SK.; Irene Fedoruk (Julian) of Edmonton, AB.; Loretta Fenske (Lawrence) of Saskatoon, SK. Bill attended Touchwood School near his homestead, and then 1 year at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic College in Yorkton, SK. Bill completed a course in agriculture in Canora, SK. Bill was a very friendly, kind and respectful man with a good sense of humor to all. He loved music, played the guitar and harmonica. He sang a song on Yorkton radio, and wrote a song called, “Stay Away from the Canora Girls for they are Nothing but Trouble.” He enjoyed muskrat trapping, duck hunting, playing pool, bowling, curling, hockey, and horse shoes. Bill was involved in the Wishart Community serving as secretary-treasurer for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool as he had very fine penmanship and good book keeping skills. He also was on the Board of Directors for the Co-op and Credit Union Committees. Bill was a long time mixed farmer and is survived by his loving wife, Nadia (Tutkaluk). They married on August 5, 1951 and they had just celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary. Bill and Nadia were much involved with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church where Bill served as a cantor. Bill and Nadia raised 4 children: Carol Moser (Larry) of Calgary, AB. and their two sons Warren (deceased) and Craig Moser of Calgary, AB.; Christine Magyar of Fort St. John, BC and daughters Tiarra Magyar and her son Aedon of Calgary, AB and Mareena (Paul) Magyar-Newbold of Fort St. John, BC and their children Hannah Magyar, Parker and Cecily Magyar-Newbold; Lesia Geni (Tim) of Wilcox, SK. and their children Ryan, Amy, James and Peter; Don (Christie) of Calgary, AB. and their daughter Abigail. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
