Obituary
Robert was a person who touched many lives during his lifetime. He was born and raised on Fishing Lake First Nation, the fifth child (fourth son) to Henry and Marjorie Kayseas. Robert was a gifted storyteller. He had the ability to draw people into his stories by the twinkle in his eyes, captivating smile, infectious laugh, and crafty sense of humour. His knowledge of history, particularly the Vietnam war, added to the engaging stories that he created. He would place himself in the stories, like the trickster, and he would weave plots that included detailed helicopter excursions and on-ground combats. Our father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend had his last helicopter ride on January 10th, he landed at 3:30 p.m in Saskatoon in a STARS air ambulance. Robert was an accomplished carpenter, worked as a farm labourer, and loved visiting and going to community dances where he enjoyed showing off his fancy jigging steps. Robert was also involved in the Alcohol Anonymous Program for 28 years; this was another forum to him to develop lasting friendships.
