Obituary
The family of Mrs. Mary Antonio announce her passing which took place on September 22, 2018 at Regina, Saskatchewan We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister & Aunt. Mary Antonio (nee Luciw) passed away on September 22, 2018, at the age of 94, at the Extendicare Sunset Lodge in Regina, following a brief illness. Mary was born on November 3, 1923, to John & Anne Luciw. She was the second of 10 children – in a family of 5 Boys and 5 girls. As a young girl, Mary attended Orange Vale School along with her brothers and sisters. She had many fond and happy memories of growing up and helping out on the family farm. In August of 1941, Mary married Metro Antonio. Over the years they lived in Picklecrow, Ontario, Flin Flon, Manitoba and eventually settled into farming life in Paswegin, Saskatchewan. Together they raised 5 children - Ernie, Paul, Lorna, Ruby & Debbie. Mary was a wonderful wife and loving mother and remembered the child-rearing years as some of the happiest times of her life. As the family expanded, Mary took great pleasure in being a grandmother to 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren. Mary was kind and gentle-spirited; and a woman of deep faith in God, that was evident in the way she lived her life, every day. Mary was predeceased by her, husband – Metro, parents John & Anne Luciw, infant grandson - Shane Patras, brothers - Pete & Steve Luciw, sister - Pauline Urechko, sister-in-law Nettie Luciw, brothers-in-law - Russell Pasiechnik & Bill Urechko. Mary is survived by her children; Ernie (Maureen) Antonio, Paul (Angela) Antonio, Lorna Patras, Ruby (Fred) Johnston & Debra (Allan) Nutbrown; and by 3 generations of grandchildren – numbering 35. Mary is also survived by sisters - Stella Chalupiak, Pearl Pasiechnik, Carolle (Joe) Pasiechnik; brothers - Mike (Violet) Luciw, Bill (Hope) Luciw, Joe (Elsie) Luciw; sister-in-law Jeanette Luciw and many nieces & nephews.
