Obituary
As per Eldon's request, there will be no funeral service held Eldon John Coates passed away peacefully on January 13, 2021, at Kelvindell Lodge, Kelvington, Saskatchewan. Eldon was born on September 5, 1943, Wadena, Saskatchewan to parents, John and Christina (nee Beaton) Coates. He attended school at the Willow Glen School in Rosebud and High School in Kelvington, Saskatchewan. Eldon worked as a farm hand after high school. Eldon worked as manager of the Lintlaw Coo-op, and he was an electrician in the Kelvington area for many years, until his retirement. He loved spending time with his family going on many hunting and fishing trips with his friends as well as going for many drives in the country with his dogs. His happy place was British Columbia, which he drove out to many times and even spent a couple of winters out on the Coast of B.C. Eldon will be lovingly remembered by: his three sons, Curtis Scutchings, Douglas Scutchings, and Graham (Jodie) Scutchings; his grandchildren Myllissa, April, Krystal, Brittany, Mardi and Luke; his siblings, sister Isabele (Walter) Kresak of Yorkton, SK, sister, Carol (Larry) Miller of Cranbrook, BC, brother, Wayne (Louise) Coates of White Rock, BC; sister-in-law Merle Coates of Wadena, SK; and brother-in-law Bob Moyse of Chilliwack, BC ; as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. Eldon was predeceased by his parents John and Christina Coates; his brothers Ted Coates, and Raymond Coates; and his sister Anne Moyse. Memorial donations in memory of Eldon may be made to Kelvington Health Care Foundation, Box 10, Kelvington, Sk S0A 1W0
