ANNA KALTENBACH 1926 - 2017 With sadness Anna's family in Canada and Germany announce the passing of her dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on January 26, 2017, in Simonswald, Germany. Anna Kaltenbach was born to Berta (Wangler) and Wilhelm Fehrenbach on August 15, 1926 at Simonswald, Germany. She was the youngest of a family of eleven. As a young girl she loved to sew and knit and planned a seamstress career. When her mother passed away when Anna as seventeen she remained home to take care of family in stead of pursuing her career. She continued to sew and knit throughout her life, and enjoyed cooking as well. Her family enjoyed her gifts of hand knit socks that she continued to made well in to her 80's. On November 17, 1951, she married Augustin Kaltenbach of Simonswald, Germany at the St. Margen Catholic CHurch in the mountains of the Black Forest near Simonswald. This church is a historic church in Germany that can only be accessed by hiking up a mountain. Anna and August raised 5 children as well as one grandson, Sascha, when he was weeks old when his mother passed away unexpectedly. Oma loved to travel and came to Canada to visit her family several times. She loved to travel around Europe on bus tours with friends and family. Oma and Opa, as Anna and August were affectionately called by their grandchildren, lived in Simonswald all of their married life until they retired to Furtwangen, Germany in 2015. Oma was a kind and gentle lady always welcoming to those in her company. Anna will be sadly missed by her husband, her children, grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and all those who knew her. Anna (Oma) is survey by her loving husband of 65 years. Numerous relatives in Germany. Her Son, Bernhard (Notburga) Kaltenbach of Star City, Saskatchewan, Canada: Grandchildren; Betina, Sebastian, Victoria, Manuela and their families. Her Daughter, Rosemarie (Markus) Fehrenbach of Fortwangen, Germany: Grandchildren; Michael, Konrad, Verena, Sonja and their families. Her Daughter, Anna (Rainer) Hoss of Freiburg, Germany. Her Son, Wilhelm (Lynne Kiland-Kaltenbach) Kaltenbach of Wadena, Saskatchewan, Canada: Granddaughter; Kirstyn Her Son, Klaus (Martina) Kaltenbach of Simonswald, Germany: Grandchildren; Sascha and Eva and their families. She was predeceased by her mother in 1944 and her father in 1952, numerous siblings and as well as extended family. Daniel Kaltenbach (Wilhelm's son) at the age of 8 months in 1984 in Germany. Daughter in law, Barbara Kaltenbach (Klaus' 1st wife) in 1986 in Germany. Funeral Services will be held for Anna on February 1st, 2017 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church Simonswald, Germany. Her Sons, Berhnard Kaltenbach and Wilhelm Kaltenbach are attending her funeral in Germany.
