Jim and I had never met, I had never heard of Mr. Jim Kruk until his passing on October 13, 2016, it is difficult to comprehend his passing. For the family the loss is great; I am sure of this. You are blessed with knowing what kind of man he was while others can only speculate and hope to hear soon what the family may already know: that whatever occurred a Herculean effort on his part would have been attempted.

Darlene I was shocked and saddened by jim's untimely passing. He was one of the most enthusiastic aviators I had ever met and always projected a positive and professional approach to flying. I was so pleased when you told me he had landed his dream job as a corporate pilot. His outstanding ability and personable manner made him ideally suited for the job. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Jim Kruk was a great guy. Our paths crossed a couple of times when he worked in Stoney Plain and I worked in Drayton Valley. Always a smile for everyone. He and Darlene visited me in Drayton Valley once and Jim was attempting to bottle feed Grayson. Well Grayson was having nothing to do with that. Jim patiently gave it the old college try but Grayson won out. No bottle for Grayson that evening. Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him. God's Blessings for Jim and his family. While God's embrace brings Jim home, may His embrace bring Jim's family peace. Sincerely; The Haynes family.

I met Jim in Kananaskis where we both enjoyed the mountain lifestyle through the 80's. He, a young mountie and me, a young game warden. We rode motorcycles, flew in his plane(s), fished, hiked, skied and in our spare time chased and caught bad guys. Then came transfers, wives and families. We still managed to get together. Over all those years many great memories were created. Thanks for those Jim, we will miss you.

It was with great sadness that I somehow immediately recognized the image of a Mountie who piloted the downed Jim Prentice plane last week as an old friend - little Jimmy, from a life-time ago, back in the late 1960's. At that time and for 4 years, I had become close to his sister Sonia and his brother Rick and parents Joe and Anne, but our lives went in different directions. Jimmy, you did really well for yourself... a husband, a father, a pilot, an RCMP officer, and probably much, much more. I only wish that our paths could have crossed once more, so that I could have told you this in person. REST IN PEACE. My deepest condolences to Mrs. Williams-Kruk... Darlene, to sons Grayden and Ryland, and to Sonia, Rick and mother Anne. Karl Popow
