Veronica Marie Agnes Grodecki, age 67, passed away Wednesday, February 6th, 2019. She was surrounded by her loving family after her courageous battle with cancer. Veronica leaves to mourn her passing, her loving mother Mary Grodecki of Wynyard, her sister Theresa Grodecki of Regina and her brothers James (Geraldine) of Regina, Lawrence of Yorkton and David (Bonnie) of Melville. She is also survived by her precious nieces and nephews. Nick (Michelle) Grodecki and great nephews James, Oscar and Austin. Kathy Grodecki (Mike Parkinson) and great nephew Alistair. Niece and god daughter, Hannah Grodecki and nephew Tyler Grodecki. Also god daughter, Nell Martin of Brisbane, Australia among many other very special friends and family Veronica loved very much. Veronica is predeceased by her father Stanley, sister Anastasia, her Baba’s and Gido’s and her very special uncle Harry Piatkowski among many other special Aunty’s, Uncle’s and cousins and her beloved fur baby “Casey “. Veronica was born on September 22nd, 1951 to Stanley and Mary Grodecki (nee Piatkowski) of Wishart, Saskatchewan. Veronica was simply a wonderful person. A woman with endearing human qualities, Veronica was warm hearted, hard working, humble, selfless, delightful, generous, she had unquestionable integrity, she was compassionate, humorous, incredibly personable and she was our guiding light. Most importantly, Veronica was “our rock”. She was the core of her family and did her hardest to pull us all together for birthdays, Jan Lake fishing trips, and so many other important family gatherings. There was never a moment when her presence failed to bring wellness and hope to those she cared for. She was great natured and loved by everyone who has ever met her and had a skill when it came to peace making. As the oldest sister, she was like a second mom. She cared for her siblings all the way to adulthood and beyond. It took strength and perseverance working a full time job and travelling back home on a regular basis to help with gardening and all the duties of a right hand woman on the farm. As an aunty she would do anything for her little people and help them in anyway she could making sure they were always safe and protected and always letting them know how much she loved them. Veronica was highly skilled with the knitting needles and loved helping out in the kitchen. A farm girl at heart always brought her home to enjoy gardening, the outdoors, the farm and helping pinch thousands of perogies among so many other duties. Travelling was something Veronica loved – taking her places such as Europe, Australia and Alaska just to name a few. Another place Veronica loved was Jan Lake and the serenity of being with family undisturbed for a few days of fishing, family time and laughs. Veronica also loved taking pictures and making albums of memories. She was very much a crafty lady and also got into making special occasion cards with that extra special touch for those she loved. Veronica also had a huge love for her cat “Casey” who was her loving and furry companion for many wonderful years. Veronica was a hardworking, devoted daughter, sister, aunty, friend and coworker. After retirement she lived her life with open arms. If you knew her you loved her. We have faith that Veronica is now with God. We are heartbroken that she is no longer with us, but we are thankful for her life and will cherish the time we had together. She may have been small in stature at her end, but like that early morning sunrise her light will never dim and her warmth will be forever felt. She will be loved for eternity!
