Obituary
Memorial Service 1:00 p.m Saturday, February 10, 2018 The Chapel of Narfason's Narfason Funeral Chapel 410 Royal Street Foam Lake, Saskatchewan On February 7, 2018, Mike Chaykoski, surrounded by his family, lost his lengthy battle with cancer, at Grace Hospice in Regina. Mike was born on May 28, 1946, in Foam Lake and lived in the Briarmound area on the family farm until the family moved into Foam Lake. Mike worked at Halyk's Tire Shop in Foam Lake and then moved to Regina to work for Goodyear Tire. After a short stint he moved to Alberta, and then back to Regina to work for Midland Vegetation Control for many years. When he finally retired, he got a part time job at Evraz where he bartended and enjoyed meeting people. He was very much a people person, and loved making new acquaintances. His favourite passion was in the great outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or just spotting for hours. He in turn passed on his hunting passion to his sons who very much love the outdoors and hunting. Mike cooked in the Bear camp in the fall, and was ready whenever Lyle gave the OK. The Americans very much enjoyed the food he prepared in front of them, and the countless hours of visiting. Mike loved watching his grandson Braden play hockey, as well as following the Regina Pats, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders (where he liked to tailgate with his brother). In the last while he enjoyed watching old westerns on his television. Mike was predeceased by his parents and is survived by; daughter, Kirsti (Larry) Weare, their children, Sydney, Haley and Braden; son, Curtis Chaykoski (Natasha); son, Blair Chaykoski (Lana) their children, Talia, and Kahra; brothers, Terry (Delores), Metro (Shelley) and Ronnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
