Funeral Mass Thursday, May 8, 2014 10: 00 a.m. Foam Lake Community Hall Foam Lake, Saskatchewan Internment : Foam Lake Cemetery John was born on November 25, 1920 in the Malby District to Eli and Anastasia Holowaty; he was the fourth child of a family of eleven. On May 11, 1947 John married Annie Bryksa and for five years they lived and farmed south of Foam Lake. In the five years they were blessed with two sons, Larry and Robert. In 1951 John and Annie moved to Foam Lake where he built a house on an acreage west of town. They resided on the acreage for the next forty-nine years and two more children were born, Ralph and Annamae. John continued to farm and was also employed at the Foam Lake Creamery. In 1985 he retired from the Town of Foam Lake public works department after twelve years of service. John spent his retirement fishing, building lawn furniture, walking and riding his bike. John and Annie enjoyed many camping trips and the company of their friends. John's last year was difficult - he struggled with memory loss and failing health. He passed away peacefully at the Yorkton Health Centre on Monday, May 5th, 2014. John was one week shy of celebrating his 67th wedding anniversary. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life, his loving wife Annie; son Larry; son Rob (Evelyn) and granddaughters, Melissa and Tanya; son Ralph (Wendy) and grandchildren Jocelyn and Ryan, great granddaughters Nylah and Sadie; daughter Annamae (Patrick), grandchildren Kyla and Jamie; sisters Katy Bonar, Mary Zadorozniak and Ann McArthur, brother Mike and numerous nieces and nephews.
