Obituary
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Wadena Hospital Auxiliary - Palliative Care. Mary Dorothy Byman was born on October 5, 1942 in Wadena, Saskatchewan to Dorothy & John McClymont. Mary passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 29, 2018, at Wadena Hospital. Mary took all her education in Wadena. After completing her high school education at Wadena Composite School, she moved to Edmonton, AB, where she completed a Cosmetology course. This training took her to Vancouver, BC where she worked as a hairdresser . In 1964, Mary came home on her days off, and met the love of her life, Keith Byman. They were married on June 30, 1965 at the Wadena United Church, Wadena, SK. Keith and Mary lived in Kylemore, for a while before moving to the farm where she resided until her passing. Together, Mary and Keith had two children; Ashley, born in 1966, and Lorelei born in 1968. Mary enjoyed life on the farm; working alongside Keith, she took pride in her plentiful vegetable garden, beautiful flowers and watching the birds. She was very involved in the Wadena United Church, singing in the choir, and volunteering with the United Church Woman’s League. She also sang in the Kuroki Ladies Choir. Mary loved to dance, when she could get Keith to go. Mary, with the guidance of Marilyn Markowski, painted canvas pictures of beautiful landscape scenery. Mary also enjoyed bowling, with friends, in a weekly league, at Wadena, Kelvington, and Foam Lake. Mary’s pride and joy was her children and grandson, Joe. She was happiest when she spent time with them. She loved travelling to visit them, and when they came home she loved to host them. Mary was predeceased; her parents, Dorothy & John; siblings, Bill, Marion, George Dave, Helen, Frank and Donnie. Mary leaves to mourn her memory; her husband of 53 years, Keith; son, Ashley (Dianne) grandson, Joseph; daughter, Lorelei (Jay Michael); sister, Bev; sisters-in-law, Willis, Valerie and Doris; brothers-in-law, Wilfred and Eugene; uncle, Jim (Norma) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
