Obituary
Memorial Service Saturday, November 21, 2015 2:00 p.m. Porcupine Plain Community Hall, Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan. Donations in memory of Annie may be made to a charity of ones choice. Annie was born March 6, 1920 in the community of Wakaw, to Peter and Katherine (Holinaty) Sterma. Her parents bought land and moved to Porcupine Plain district in 1928. Annie started school in Wakaw, grades one to three, and later moved to Pocupine Plain. On August 14, 1952, Annie married Paul Boyko; she worked by his side, farming in the Deer Centre area. Later, they bought land, and lived in the Porcupine Plain area until her passing. Over the years, Annie worked at different jobs; her main employment was at the Porcupine Hospital, where she worked as a cook for many years. Annie had many talents and hobbies, her favorite was gardening, growing both vegetables and berries. She enjoyed embroidery, baking, singing and playing the piano. Annie was a strong women, and valued her independence; this was especially evident as she fought valiantly in recent years to cope. Annie was a generous, kind, and gentle person. Annie will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Annie is survived by three children, daughter, Shirley (Martin) of Spalding; Son, John (Carol) of Saskatoon; Daughter, Betty of Spalding. One sister, Eva Martin of Toronto. Annie was predeceased by; her parents, Peter and Katherine; Husband, Paul Boyko; Son, Jullian Drapak; Daughter, Patricia Hagyl; Son-in-law, Michael Hagyl; Six brothers, and five sisters.
