Survived by their three sons; Larry(Linda)Curtis(Veronica) and Murray(Iris). Eddie William Erickson was born September 9th 1925 in Wynyard Saskatchewan and grew up on his father’s farm, 6 ½ miles north of Wynyard. He attended Grandy School; a one room country school house. He farmed the Erickson Farm with his brother Francis most his life, raising cattle, pigs, poultry and grain. He continued to farm into his 80’s until the majority of the land was sold. The Erickson Farm earned the Family Farm Heritage Award in 2006. All three brothers; Eddie, Francis and Henry were present to witness this milestone achievement . October 25th 1948 in Quill Lake, Eddie married Alice Williams, who came from a small farm south of Clair. They resided at the E. J. Erickson farmhouse for 6 years until they built their own house in 1954. Dad was an avid sportsman considered in his active years to be a skilled ball player. He enjoyed hunting geese with brothers Francis and Henry and son Murray as well as other relatives and friends. The night before the hunt the ritual pit-digging took place. He hunted deer annually for many years. He golfed, curled, played horse shoes, bowled, played cards for hours with Alice as well as at get-togethers and tournaments. Between Mom and Dad they accumulated quite a collection of horse shoe and bowling trophies which they proudly displayed in their dining room. As members of the Wynyard Legion Eddie and Alice developed many friendships. They were avid square dancers, and made numerous trips to the Watrous Pavilion. Fishing trips in the early years are fondly remembered by their sons as were the many family gatherings at Mom and Dad’s house. They enjoyed fun times at Green Water Lake staying at the rental cabins or at Fishing Lake for a Sunday with relatives and friends. The couple purchased a camper trailer that they pulled to the lakes for longer stays. Many rounds of golf were enjoyed with friends and family. They moved off the farm in 2013 to Foam Lake care centre and later to Golden Acres in Wynyard.
