Obituary
John Volberg Grimson was born on the family farm north east of Mozart on October 29th, 1917. He died in the Wynyard hospital on December 28th, 2012. John was the agent for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for 37 years. At the same time he also worked as the secretary treasure for the Mozart Credit Union for 20 years, until it developed to the size that the services of a full time manager and separate building could be maintained. He demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities in the community and was particularly active in Cooperative organizations. He was on the boards of the Mozart Cooperative; the Leslie Coop Beach; the Yellowhead Emerald District #41 Home Care Corporation. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. for a number of years. John was predeceased by his parents Sigga and Mundi, his sisters Grace Morrison and Anna Sawyer, his wife Lena and his second wife Joan, his daughter-in-law Karen. He is survived by his daughter Carole (Bill) Nolan, grand daughters Carla Taylor and Colleen (Phillip) Olson, great grandchildren Jennifer and Bradley Taylor, Lars Olson. His son Rick and grandsons Mark and Kirk (Amanda) Grimson. Our Dad always respected everyone he met, he saw the best in people.He will be remembered and missed. At his request there will be creamation, no funeral and a private internment at a later date. Donations may be sent to the Mozart Pioneer Cemetry or the Mozart Hall.
