Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard Krawchuk, late of Newmarket Place, Tisdale on March 29, 2018. Bernie was born June 24, 1933 on the home quarter eight miles southwest of Elfros to Daniel and Tekla (Lysyk) Krawchuk. He was the second of three children. He attended elementary school at Royal Rock country school and graduated from Elfros High School in 1951. He was a graduate of The Radio College of Canada in Toronto and worked as a radio, television and appliance repair technician, mostly in Morinville, AB. Bernie saved and invested wisely and was able to retire in 1976. He enjoyed playing cards and fellowship with family and friends. He was well informed about current affairs and was a frequent caller to the Roy Norris and John Gormley open line radio broadcasts. Bernie moved to Saskatoon in 1995, where he joined several seniors’ organizations and made new friends. He was a voracious reader and spent much time at the Saskatoon Public Library. He appreciated the kind and compassionate care he received during his last three years at Newmarket Place nursing home in Tisdale. Bernie was predeceased by both his parents in 1983 and by his sister Pauline Eremko in 2015. He is survived by his brother Eugene (Joyce) Krawchuk, of Scottsdale, AZ and his nieces and nephews Joan Eremko, of Regina, David (Gabriela) Eremko, of Nipawin, Natalie (Mark) Steimer, of Scottsdale, AZ, Gregory Krawchuk, of Tempe, AZ and Stephen Krawchuk, of Los Angeles, CA.
