Mabel Edith (Nee Choat) Riess April 14, 1935 - March 23,2021 Mabel was born April 14, 1935 to James and Adeline Choat. Mabel passed peacefully at Watrous & District Health Compex on March 23, 2021. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Victor, and their four children- and many grandchildren and great grandchildren Garet (Wendy) Riess - Michelle(Matthew) Dawson, Kyla & Leah,- Michael (Tiffany),- Jeffrey.- Shirley (Arnold) Anderson - Crystal (Cory) Bjornson, Mackenzie & Makayla,- Desiree (Andrew).- Elaine Konecsni - Corrin (Collin) Senft, Karsten & Kage,- Candace (Harvey)Braun, Cassidy & Kelsey.- Lana (Lorne) Axman- Bryan (Delia) Alva & Ainsley,- Brittany (Ryan)Chamberlain, Winston. Mabel and Victor farmed together on the family farm Northeast of Lestock. Mabel was kind hearted, down to earth, and giving. She could be found with bare feet in the garden, looking after numerous grandchildren, caring for animals, or cooking for her family in the kitchen; all the things she loved. Mabel took pride in her home and lived a humble life. She made sure no one had cold feet by providing everyone homemade knitted socks or that no one had an empty belly by providing many home cooked meals and baking. She was famous for her Homemade pie. When her and Victor were no longer able to live on the farm, she spent her remaining days in Watrous with Victor. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no service will be held. A private family service will take place at Lestock Cemetery at a later date.
