Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel (Sam) Grieder on August 5, 2016 at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Sam was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend. Sam was born on April 8, 1941, to Clarance and Vera Grieder in Swan River, Manitoba. Sam grew up and attended school in Swan River. After graduating from Grade 12, he received both his CMA and CPA designations in accounting. Sam met his wife, Lily, in Winnipeg, MB, and they married in June 1969. In February 1973, they adopted their only son, Martin. They moved around the Western provinces before settling in Saskatoon in 1983. In 1999, Sam and Lily moved to Wadena, SK and have resided there until his passing. Sam was a well liked community member, he was a friendly face to all those who knew him. he loved to garden, and a good hockey game or baseball game. Almost any sporting event for that matter. He also enjoyed collecting stamps and later on in life found a love for painting. Sam was a stand up guy with a good heart and made friends wherever life took him. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace. Sam is survived by his wife Lily of Wadena, SK; son Martin (Corina) and their children Jessica, Payton and Maddox of Saskatoon, SK; brother Jack (Marie) of Swan River,MB; niece Gayle of Winnipeg, MB; and nephew Warren of Winnipeg,MB. Sam is predeceased by his parents Clarance and Vera Grieder.
