Obituary
Ralph Axel was born to Walter and Doreen (King) on January 29, 1961 in Regina Sask. a baby brother to Glen and Dale. Walter married Adele in 1974 and his sisters Tammy and Raeanne were born. Ralph always called Kelliher "Home". He attended Kelliher School until entering the work force, where he was employed by CN Rails in 1978. On June 1, 1980 Ralph was in a car accident injuring his legs preventing him from returning to work. Ralph took great pride in his volunteer work with the Kelliher Fire Department, the Kelliher Golf Course and the Kelliher Rodeo. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Ralph enjoyed his work with the town as Landfill Supervisor and plowing the sidewalks in the winter. He was always up before the sun to get the sidewalks and many people's driveways cleared for the day. In return he loved the many home made goodies that accompanied his good deeds. Our Community was his family. He loved to watch the children go by on their way to school, sitting between the town office and Kelliher Agencies watching the day go by, visiting with many as they passed by. He loved cruising through town on his quad, playing solitaire on his computer, racing remote control cars with Kyan and Charles, Rocking to the oldies with Landon on the old 8 tracks, morning coffee with Doug and Sharon, pit stopping at King's Automotive to catch up on the latest news. Ralph's greatest joys in life were simple things: listening to his music, visiting with friends and families, telling a joke, playing his Lotto 649 with hopes of hitting the big one, and being with his "Boys". Ralph's legs were the cause of many hospital stays. On February 11, Ralph was taken by ambulance to Fort Qu'Appelle All Nations Hospital. On January 15, Ralph entered Respite Care at St. Joseph's Integrated Care Center in Lestock with the hopes of physio helping to get him back home. On March 21, Ralph was taken to Regina Pasqua Hospital ICU due to difficulty breathing. He was put on a ventilator to help bring his oxygen levels back up. Ralph was progressing well and the tube was removed on March 26 with high hopes that his lungs could keep his levels good. As the night progressed, Ralph's lungs were not able to support him. Family and friends were with him throughout the day and his wishes of having his "Boys" visiting and a dill pickle vodka was fulfilled. He passed away peacefully with family at his side on March 27, 2018. Ralph is predeceased by his Mother, Doreen on February 8, 2010, Father, Walter on May 18, 2008, brothers Glen on September 30, 2003 and Dale on January 12, 2017.
