Obituary
Donations in memory of Peter may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Peter Ducheminski was born May 3, 1941 in London, Ontario, only child of Peter Ducheminski and Mary Tabish. In 1943, the family moved to Saskatchewan settling on a farm South of Tufnell where Peter grew up. He attended school at Tufnell and graduated from Foam Lake Composite High School in 1960. Since Peter’s father continued to ‘commute’ between the farm and his job in Ontario, Peter started his farming career very early in life. He was very keen on living as naturally as possible and this lifestyle carried over to his cattle and crops. Peter was recognized as an organic farmer and subsequently had his land certified as an organic farm. Peter’s path through life was one of the extending kindness to everyone- family, friends, neighbours and strangers. He was a very quiet, shy and reserved individual, who loved the land and all of the beauty of nature. Peter’s interests were as varied as the books on the shelves. While he tried his hand at hunting for a few years, fishing was his ultimate outdoor activity. While not an avid sports fan, he did enjoy curling when younger and watching the local ball games. He continued to garden after his mother’s passing and enjoyed canning the fruits of his labour. His greatest passion was reading and listening to radio talk programs, particularly those from the Sates. He enjoyed seeing new places, going on drives to check the countryside and travelling throughout the province. But the biggest item on his ‘Bucket List’ goes unaccomplished - a trip to Kopycznee, the ancestral village of his ancestors. He was an active member of the Goudie CB Club and was involved with the Tufnell Rec Centre, as well as the Sports Day. But whatever the function in Tufnell he was more then willing to lend a hand. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Peter in 1980 and Mary in 2003; his grandparents, Karol & Mary (nee Stebinsky) Ducheminski and Michal & Josefa (nee Rzepski), as well as aunts, uncles and several cousins. He leaves to mourn his passing his cousins, Merv (Bonnie) Verhoeven, Wilfred (Elaine) Bisschop, Rita Chernoff, Mervin (Glynis) Shewchuk, Gerry Shewchuk, Dale (Joanne) Shewchuk, Shirley Kopan, Geraldine (Andy) Proulx, as well as cousins in Poland.
