Obituary
Please click here - Weyburn serviceAmanda Joan Morrissette was born on March 14, 1981 to Robert and Norma Shaw at Regina General Hospital, Regina SK. Her younger brother, Jonathan followed 2 years later. Growing up on the farm near Beaubier SK, she loved being anywhere her dad was, especially on the tractor. This is also where she developed her love of the outdoors and of animals. It wasn’t long before she was able to manage many aspects of the household and look after Jonathan while Bob and Norma were working. It is not surprising to anyone who knew her where her work ethic came from. Amanda attended Lake Alma Elementary School from K to 6. Grade 7 to 12, Amanda went to Gladmar Regional School. This was a turning point in her life as this is where she met the love of her life and best friend, Cody Morrissette. Three days after high school graduation in June 1999, Amanda and Cody moved to Saskatoon to work for the summer before starting their post secondary education that September. Amanda convocated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree in April 2003 and began her nursing career at St. Paul’s Hospital. That was a busy year for Amanda and Cody as they also bought their first home in Saskatoon that spring. On June 14, 2003 Amanda and Cody were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Weyburn SK. Two years later they welcomed their first child, a son, Nolan John on February 16, 2005. A few months later the family moved to Wadena where Amanda touched so many lives in her 13 years of nursing at Wadena Hospital. On April 17, 2007 they were blessed with a tiny baby girl, Allison Rose. Their beautiful family became complete on August 30, 2011 when Evan Antoine was born. As a family they enjoyed camping, visiting museums, going to the exhibition and spending as much time with friends and family as they could. As the kids grew, sitting in the cheering section at sporting events were added to this list. Visits back home to the farm were extra special as Amanda always held the farm very close to her heart and Amanda had the biggest heart. This was evident in the way she cared for her family, her friends and her patients at the hospital. Her sense of loyalty and fairness were unmatched and when you became part of her life she never let you forget how loved you were. She had a special place in her heart for “her adopted children” Ethan, Colby and Ava and of course her sweet niece and nephew Lillian and Robert. Amanda leaves to mourn her soulmate Cody Morrissette, children Nolan, Allison and Evan; parents Robert and Norma Shaw; brother Jonathan Shaw(Chantal), niece Lillian and nephew Robert as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents John and Hazel Shaw and Jack and Phyllis Ashworth. Amanda will be remembered and missed by all who knew her. pleases click here Memorial Drive Wadena please click here Wadena funeral service A Private Family Funeral Service will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday,February 10, 2021.
