Emil passed away peacefully at the Foam Lake Jubilee Home on July 9, 2014 at the age of 83 with his family by his side. Emil was married to Liz on June 29, 1958 and together they raised four children. Emil enjoyed a 36-year career as a teacher, starting out in a one-room schoolhouse in Parkerview, Saskatchewan followed by the Kamsack and Wroxton districts. In 1964 the family moved to Foam Lake, where Emil taught at the Foam Lake Elementary School. He returned to school at the University of Saskatchewan to obtain his B.Ed., and continued teaching in Foam Lake until he retired in 1984. After retirement, Emil enjoyed woodworking and yard work, the latter under Liz's watchful eye and supervision. Emil will be deeply missed by his loving wife Liz, his children Cynthia (Kelly), Brian, Randy (Cheryl) and Theresa (Dany), and his grandchildren Amy, Nicolle, Marlise and Patrick. He leaves to mourn his sisters Anne, Josie (Norman) and Alice, brothers Raymond (Marion) and Walter (Jacque), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Emil was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Katherine, his brother Sam, and sisters Helen and Jean.
