Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church Wishart, Saskatchewan Interment to follow at the Parish Cemetery Walter Bzdel was born on September 10, 1934 to Nick and Catherine Bzdel (Muc). Walter grew up in the Royal Rock area. Although he was challenged with a disability, Walter was still enrolled at the Royal Rock School; he took pride in printing. Walter was known to be very athletic, as Harry would say, “Walter could run like a deer.” While in school, a doctor came in one day to give the students needles for vaccinations, Walter would have no part of it. The teacher tried to keep him in the room, Walter tossed the teacher aside, ran out the door, leading the way for Gordon, Jean, and the Muc boys and they all went and hid in the bush. Walter stayed on the family farm until 1998, he then moved to Golden Acres Nursing Home in Wynyard where he resided until his peaceful passing on April 11, 2017. Walter was predeceased by his parents; Nick and Catherine; sister, Helen; brothers, Joe, Tom, Mike, and Jacob. Walter is survived by his siblings; Mary, Merron, Harry, Gordon, Jean, Sylvester and numerous nieces and nephews. VICHNAYA PAMYAT! ETERNAL MEMORY!
