Obituary
A Memorial Service for Morris will be held at a later date. Those wishing to leave an online condolence for the family or share a story about Morris may do so via this website. Morris's courageous battle with diabetes came to a peaceful end when he passed away in the Wadena Hospital on September 4. Morris was born on August 21, 1951 at the Rose Valley hospital. He attended Zazula and Clair schools until grade 8, after that he took up farming with his mother and father north of Clair. He worked away from the farm many winters, Diamond Drilling in Ontario, Oil Rigs from Alberta to the Artic Circle. As a self-taught welder Morris enjoyed working for Lloyd's Mfg. in Wadena and continued to use his welding skills for the rest of his life. In 1975 Morris married and started his family. Morris's greatest love was farming, including raising cattle and hogs. He enjoyed custom combining locally, plus combining from Oklahoma USA to many places in Saskatchewan. Morris was always eager to help his friends and neighbours. He loved to weld, design and manufacture all sorts of farm equipment. Anytime a neighbour needed something repaired or welded they "just called Morris." Besides his love of farming he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his close friends. He is survived by his four daughters, Charman Balaski, Cheryl Rouncville (Dallas), Candace Balaski, Valene Eberle (Shaun). Mother Jean Balaski, sisters Brenda Balaski, Beverly Balaski, brother Gordon Balaski (Lisa). Predeceased by father Nick Balaski and numerous extended family members. In honour of Morris's wishes there will be no memorial service. Cremation has taken place. A private internment is to take place at a later time. Those wishing to leave condolences may do so at www.narfasons.com Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. The family would like to express their heartfelt thank you to everyone who cared for and visited Morris during his many years of illness. A special thank you to the Wadena Hospital Staff for his care during the past 18 months.
