Lillian Mae Nelson was born to James and Alma Nelson, on September 19, 1932, in Delisle, Sask. Lil grew up on a farm near Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. She attended school at a country school near their farm. Lillian worked as the Maltshop Assistant Manager at the Hudsons Bay Company in Saskatoon and cooked at the Weneeda Park Lodge in Wadena, Sask. Lillian Nelson married Cecil Wutke on June 5, 1950. Cecil and Lil had 5 boys and one daughter; Rennis, Brian, Kenneth, Elaine, Kevin & Garry. Lil and Cecil lived in Richard, Bradwell, and finally moved to Wadena in 1976. Lil cared about each community she lived in and volunteered for many organizations. Lillian was instrumental in starting a Kindergarten in Clavet. She worked to build the tables and chairs and assisted in every aspect ensuring that the children had a great opportunity to learn. Lillian was an active member of the United Church, teaching Sunday School, baking for fundraisers and volunteering whenever asked . Lil loved to share the many talents she had; crafts , jellies, jams, bread, crocheted doilies, dish clothes, mitts, scarves, just to name a few. Lillian belonged to the Lioness Club in Wadena, member of the Wadena United Church and enjoyed spending time at the Wadena Drop-in Centre. Cecil and Lil attending the local Farmer’s Markets for many years, where they not only loved selling their goods, but also loved visiting with all their friends and regular customers. Lil was proud to be crowned “The Queen” during the Heritage Days in Wadena. She enjoyed her gardening and tending to her flowers, baking and crafting. Lil and Cecil also enjoyed camping and fishing from the time their children were young and well into their retirement. Cecil and Lil made many road trips to see their children and grandchildren across, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and above all being beside Cecil. Lillian will be deeply missed by her husband of over 65 years Cecil, her children, Rennis (Cheryl) Kelowna, B.C., Elaine (Don) Miller Princeton, B.C., Kevin (Connie) Tisdale, SK and Garry Regina, SK; Grandchildren: Sean, Jason (Shelly), Tyler, Carla (Kris), Darren (Nicole), Brett, Delee, Kira, Keisha, Jamie, Nicole, Marissa & Carlie; Great-grandchildren: Andrew, Ava, Camryn, Nate, Jackson, Nico, Preston & Hayley; as well as many extended family and a host of friends. Lillian was predeceased by her parents, James & Alma Nelson; her sons, Brian & Kenneth; her siblings, Irene & Bill.
