Ray passed away at the Foam Lake Jubilee Nursing Home with all his family at his bedside on April 15, 2016. Raymond was born on the homestead by Insinger, Sk., on February 12, 1930 to Kost and Rose Babichuk. He attended the Wolowetz School. After his schooling, he helped out on the family farm and worked as a farm helper for various local farmers. Raymond then moved to Winnipeg where he met the love of his life, Shirley. Ray and Shirley were happily together for 54 years. They relocated to Sheho where they raised their six children. Raymond worked for Wappel Construction as a serviceman for 27 years until his retirement at age 65. He also farmed the family farm where he spent all his weekends in the field. Ray loved the farm and could always be found riding on his tractor or under his favourite tree. He enjoyed picking mushrooms in the spring time and playing cards in the winter time. Raymond enjoyed visiting with his farm neighbours over a cold beer. Raymond enjoyed showing off his hard work on the farm to his family, where countless weekends were spent. Giedo enjoyed visits from his granchildren and great-grandchildren. Raymond was predeceased by his father Kost and mother Rose, his brother and sister-in-law Bill and Mary Babichuk, and brothers-in-law Ray Hayes and Bill Dmytriw.
