Obituary
Russell Morris Hrynkiw passed away on October 14th, 2019 at the age of 61. He was born to parents John and Elizabeth Hrynkiw, on September 25th, 1958 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and was the oldest of six children. Russell was raised in the R.M. of Wolverine where he attended grade one and two at country school, grade three to eight in Guernsey, grade nine and ten in Lanigan. Right after grade ten Russell began his mechanical career. He completed his apprenticeship program through Kelsey in Saskatoon while working for Greve’s Garage in Lanigan. After obtaining his schooling he rented Greve’s Welding shop in Lanigan and started his own business. In 1989, he moved his business to Kelvington where he ran Viptor Inc. for seventeen years. In 2006, he sold his shop to R & B Crushing where he continued to work for the next ten years. In 2018, he began working for the R.M. of Kelvington doing seasonal maintenance. Every job Russell had he was an example of hard work, dedication and ingenuity. From a young age Russell had a passion for building and racing cars where he spent hours perfecting and making sure everything was done right. In his early days, he spent weekends at the race track with his children Steven and Amber who would cheer him on. Russell promised his wife Darlene a Model A car for her fortieth birthday which she received on her fifty-fifth birthday. He soon began to build himself a truck which remains in the shop partially completed waiting for Brandon to take over. He took a lot of pride in manicuring his yard and planting a garden large enough to feed his entire family for a year. Some of his favourite hunting memories were spent with close friends at the bus and teaching his son Brandon the tricks of the trade. Russell looked forward to his daily visits from Michelle and was counting down the days for his newest grandchild to arrive. Russell enjoyed spending time with his wife Darlene traveling, camping and fishing. He loved to be on the lake with his wife taking lessons from her as he often said she out fished him. Outside of travelling he rarely left the farm as he spent a lot of time tinkering in his shop where his friends would often stop by for happy hour and to see what he was up to. Russell will be lovingly missed by his wife of 28 years, Darlene; son Steven (Marnie) Hrynkiw, grandchildren Chanel, Kayden, Brooklyn, Noah.
